Mardi Gras

Today is Mardi Gras (Fat Tuesday). The culmination of several weeks of celebrations.

I hope you are ready with your beads and celebratory food. King Cake (don’t swallow the baby), Gumbo, Jambalaya, Red Beans & Rice!

If you have read my blog for a while, you know that two of my family lines are from The Pelican State, Louisiana! This is part of my maternal line. My grandfather Thomas was born in Louisiana. Over the years, we have returned often for Family Reunions.

Even if you don’t have a connection to Louisiana, enjoy the day. Celebrate!

Me pictured in my Elephant Beads!

Laissez les bon temps rouler (pronounced “Lay-say le bon tom roo-lay”) meaning Let the good times roll!

Fat Tuesday !
